Senior software developer (GDi GISDATA)

GDi has an open position for a Senior Software Developer who would be responsible for a demanding yet rewarding variety of duties related to the development, enhancement and delivery of software solutions.

You should have experience with Microsoft and/or Java software development technologies, ideally both. You shoud have some experience with one of the following database management systems: Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle or PostgreSQL. Strong candidates will have a history of working with databases and data-driven application systems, in cross-functional teams, where the business is embedded into the development environment.

Job Description:

• Participate in all aspects of the software lifecycle including design, implementation, testing and maintenance
• Responsibly lead analysis, design and architecture in a structured, documented methodology
• Research, evaluate, select and adopt new/evolving methods, tools and technologies  when appropriate from business and technical point of view
• Responsible for delivering projects on time, within budget and scope
• Identify features and improvements to enhance overall product value: usability, maintainability, security and performance
• Design and implement solutions using Microsoft or Java software development technologies
• Advanced PL/SQL development, MSSQL, Oracle
• Develop front-end and back-end components accessing SQL Server and Oracle
• Lead and mentor other team members on various projects
• Vacancy located in Zagreb, Croatia, with occasional travel to customer sites in Europe / EMEA

Requirements:

• Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Telecommunications,
• Mathematics, Physics, or related technical discipline
• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a software developer; demonstrated success developing a variety of software systems while taking on increasing responsibility for  analysis, design, implementation and deployment tasks
• Extensive experience with the .NET platform, C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and SQL
• Understanding and experience with Java technologies (j2EE, Hibernate, Spring)
• Experience with developing MS SQL, and Oracle based applications (advanced database
• development skills)
• Strong in the design and development of enterprise-scale software architecture
• GIS software application design and development familiarity an advantage
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic environment
• Demonstrate a cooperative, professional demeanor, initiative and excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Exhibit leadership and mentoring skills
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
