Nikola Cavic dolazi u Nordeus iz CPP Gamesa, izdavača popularnog EVE Onlinea.
Nordeus je potvrdio za Netokraciju kako im je iz CPP Gamesa upravo prešao Nikola Cavic, koji je tamo bio odgovoran za promociju i prodaju popularnog MMORPG-a Eve Online. Cavic nije jedini novi zaposlenik izdavača popularne internetske sporske igre Top Eleven, s obzirom da su zaposlili pobjednički tim svojeg nedavno održanog hackathona. Top Eleven je najpopularnija sportska igra ne samo na Facebooku, već i internetu općenito – s milijunima igrača.
Eve Online je predstavljen u svojoj prvoj verziji još 2003., a i danas je popularna internetska igra s preko 7,500 virtualnih sistema. Novi iOS developer Dane Rukavina, dizajner Nikola Damjanov te pojačanje u podršci za specifična tržišta Ivana Koprivica i Jasmina Jović također su zaposleni pojačanju beogradskog tima.
Cavic je posebno za Netokraciju naveo razlike između dobijanja novih igrača za EVE te Top Eleven:
While the industry landscape of casual games is rather different from that of MMO games, I don’t expect my work to change too much. As a head of business development my main focus will be international expansion, strategic partnerships and better monetization of existing users. I was performing most of those functions over the 5 years that I spent working on EVE Online as well. However, I do expect changes and new challenges in my work.
Some of the main differences between MMO and social games that I anticipate are the difference in pace, retention and monetization. EVE Online is a subscription based MMO where everything revolves around the monthly subscription, where players are “hooked” for years and where additional ways of monetizing player base are not yet a priority. Top Eleven on the other hand is operating in a completely different environment. There, players are making purchase decisions on a daily basis, not monthly. The retention rate is considerably lower compared to that of an MMO game and the need to monetize users is critical in the first weeks. Therefore, the pace is very different too. I very much look forward to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
